Gerald Jones to Headline Valentine's Concert February 14 at Sons of Hermann Hall

Self-proclaimed "banjo weirdo" Gerald Jones-THE Gerald Jones-and friends will perform a Valentine's Day concert on Sunday, February 14, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Sons of Hermann Hall in Deep Ellum, Dallas.  Gerald will be accompanied on bass by George Anderson, on fiddle by Jim "Texas Shorty" Chancellor, and on guitar by Brad Davis.  Also performing will be Rick Brooks on keyboards and Kim Platko on jazz guitar.

Gerald is a beloved fixture of the music community in north Texas and has taught hundreds of students.  He is frequently seen at jams, sitting in with various bands, organizing the annual Acoustic Music Camp, and teaching Texas music in local schools, but rarely headlines.  His set list can be expected to cross multiple music genres-jazz, classical, bluegrass-and demonstrate his extensive musical skills, particularly on banjo and mandolin.

Featured artists George Anderson, Texas Shorty and Brad Davis are all extraordinary musicians in their own right.  And it is not outside the realm of possibility that others may wander onto the stage during the course of the evening.  What is certain is that Gerald will demonstrate his commitment to making sure that everyone involved has a great time with the music.
